New Website and Mobile Applications for SMU/TEA/Region10

With the assistance of our friends at Valiant Media we were able to complete an 8 month project for SMU and the Texas Education Association.  We created a website for Region 10, a regional service center for the TEA that included some challenging obstacles.  We stretched our capabilities by learning to create a site around the Mura CMS platform.  The environment is a powerful CMS based on Cold Fusion.  In addition, we integrated a text to speech third party application and provided the site in both Spanish and English.  These functionalities were also created for the accompanying iOS and Android applications.  While the challenges were numerous, we were grateful to be a part of such an important project.  We hope visitors will appreciate learning more about Dyslexia and how we can all help better understand the students who have this condition.

A bit more about Region 10:

Region 10 is one of 20 regional service centers established by the Texas State Legislature in 1967 for the purpose of providing services to the schools within a defined geographic region. They are non-regulatory, have no taxing authority, and provide services for which local school participation is voluntary. Region 10 Education Service Center, located in Richardson, provides services that impact more than 810,000 students on 1,220 campuses. Among the 99,000 staffers we support are 53,000 teachers in over 120 ISDs, charters and private school across eight north Texas counties and portions of two others. Schools outside the geographic region may also contract with us.

This site has yet to be launched by the client.
